I totally agree with this. If there is even a chance of being late due to traffic congestion or other reasons you should be certain you have the other person’s cell number, and call and just let them know. I always try to arrive 5 minutes early. Making someone wait almost 1/2 hour with no notification is disrespectful. It may not be intentionally so, but all you have to do is imagine the shoe on the other foot…do YOU want to be kept waiting without knowing if the other party is going to show?
Doug, thanks for your comments. Many people respond to my posts through Facebook, e-mail, etc and this post has gotten the most comments. Some have told me it’s too simple a concept & not worth the time to consider. Others have had experiences with inconsiderate people and felt it is worth the discussion.
